The Gartenhotel & Weingut Pfeffel is located 900 metres west of Dürnstein in the Wachau valley, between the vineyards of Ried Himmelsstiege, Vogelberg and Schreiberberg.

Wine, history of art and culinary delights - this is what the Wachau is known for. The family-run Gartenhotel & Weingut Pfeffel is situated in the heart of the Wachau valley, between the Vogelberg and Schreiberberg vineyards.

Guests can spend some time on the cosy terrace of their room or relax in the lounge with a book. The surroundings are also ideal for cycling along the Danube. You can enjoy a 7-course candlelight dinner with wine tasting in the conservatory - the Kaminstüberl - or have a dish from the à la carte menu combined with a glass of local wine.

During the summer the outdoor pool and the sauna are ideal to relax after a tiring day spent outdoors. This is a great place for those who enjoy wine tasting. We also offer on-site seminars with our sommelier in the wine garden or the wine cellar.

The rooms are equipped with attention to detail and offer a relaxing ambience. Enjoy the view of the charming landscape of the Wachau while having a glass of wine (Grüner Veltliner) on the balcony or relax by the pool after a beautiful bicycle tour along the river Danube.

Spend some relaxed hours on the terrace, in the "Spiegelzimmer" or the "Kaminstüberl" while having a glass of wine or enjoying a delicious meal. We offer fresh trout with herbs from our own garden, vegetarian dishes or regional specialities. We prepare every menu with love and attention for detail to ensure culinary delights for our guests. Many products come from our own garden, including tomatoes, courgettes, and various fruits like apricots and cherries. We also offer eggs from our own chickens.

In the evening there is a special ambiance in Wachau - guests can listen to romantic bird song in the cosy valley. The on-site restaurant offers different menus and guests can also relax in the romantic rose garden with a glass of Wachauer wine.

By car:

Coming from Vienna West:
- Take the motorway A1 until St. Pölten East
- Take the S33 until Krems and then B3 to Dürnstein.
- After the tunnel below Dürnstein drive about 900 meters ahead. Turn right at the flags to the hotel.

Coming from Vienna centre / Vienna North:
- Take the A22 until Stockerau West
- Then take the S5 until Krems and then B3 to Dürnstein.
- After the tunnel below Dürnstein drive about 900 meters ahead. Turn right at the flags to the hotel.

Coming from Salzburg / Linz:
- Take the A1 until Melk via the Danube bridge and then the B3 to Weißenkirchen.
- Follow the street downstream for about 4 km and turn left about 900 meters before Dürnstein to the hotel.

Parking: We offer plenty of secure car parking spaces on the hotel ground.

By train / bus:
Train station in Dürnstein is approximately 1,5 klm away from the hotel. You can also use a taxi from the train station Krems (approximately 7 klm away from the hotel) if you do not wish to change the train in Krems.

By boat:
The boats dock at the center of Dürnstein (approximately 1 klm away from the hotel).

By plane:
There are scheduled flights from all international airports to Vienna - Schwechat. The CAT train runs from the airport to the city centre of Vienna (stop Wien-Mitte). From there you can reach Dürnstein by metro and by the Franz-Josephs-Bahn (train station Wien-Spittelau) via Krems.
