The hotel has been open for business for nearly 100 years, and is now being managed by the fourth generation of the Blumschein family. And rather than being just one grand building, the Hoteldorf comprises 5 quintessentially Austrian houses with individually designed rooms, which are located right next door to a national park.

But if the scenery and setting alone don't tempt you, the ultra-luxurious spa definitely will. Specialising in anti-aging and rejuvenating treatments, it now offers treatments from all over the world, such as Shiseido and Alpienne.

The surrounding area is known for great skiing in winter, hiking into the national park, and mountain biking and golf in summer.

All of the hotel's rooms are individually appointed, with fine attention to detail; no two rooms are alike.

The Landhaus and rooms on the second floor of the Kösslerhaus have been designated non-smoking.

The hotel's chef and his team serve a range of traditional Austrian and international delicacies. The restaurant offers magnificent views of the valley.

Arrival from the north on the A10 motorway towards Villach:
- Exit for Bischofshofen. Follow the B167 to Lend.
- Turn left towards Gasteinertal.
- When you arrive in Bad Gastein stay on the main road - do not go into the centre of Bad Gastein.
- Go up the hill, passing a Shell petrol station on your left, followed by the train station on your right.
- After passing the SPAR supermarket turn left. After 300 metres go left again and follow the street for approximately 3 km to Grüner Baum.

Arrival from the south on the A10 motorway towards Salzburg:
- Exit for Mallnitz-Oberfellach. Follow the road to Mallnitz.
- Once there put your car on the car train to Böckstein.
- Once in Böckstein follow the road to Bad Gastein.
- After passing a railway bridge - turn right immediately - and follow the road for approximately 3 km, into Grüner Baum.

Arrival by train:
The hotel bus can collect you from Bad Gastein railway station for free between 08:00 and 18:00.

Arrival by plane:
Salzburg (W.A. Mozart) Airport is 95 km from the hotel. An airport collection will cost EUR 110 for 2 people one way; EUR 130 for 3 – 8 people one way.

Included in your room rate: Pick-up from Bad Gastein's train station between 08:00 and 18:00.

Transfers from/to Salzburg and Munich Airports are also available.
