Krabi Town and the surrounding area offer much to the visitor in the way of sporting activities and things to do. Ao Nang Beach is a great base from which to explore the small islands. There are around 83 in the bay and they can be easily accessed by boat from this beach. There are plenty of organised tours available. The local skippers can also arrange your transport.

There are various establishments on Ao Phra Nang Beach and Railay Beach where you can hire canoes, either by the hour or by the day. Some charter companies also offer canoeing expeditions along the coast or around the islands in the area.

Water sport activates and fishing trips are available on most beaches. Some offer 2-person kayaks, sailing and windsurfing. If there is a sport that is not offered on your beach, you can easily take one of the regular long-tail boats to the next beach and find it there. Railay Beach is a favourite beach for Frisbee throwers and volleyball players.
