The Monneaux Restaurant is listed as one of the "Top 10 Restaurants in South Africa" by Eat Out for the year 2001 and 2002. It was also voted one of the "Top 100 Restaurants in South Africa" by Wine Magazine for 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
Lunch is served on the magnificent fountain terrace and dinner in the relaxed, yet elegant dining room. The wine list offers some of the top wines of the region.
During the cooler months, you can relax in the evenings by the crackling log fire of the lounge, with a complimentary sherry.

From Cape Town:
- Take the N2.
- Take the first Stellenbosch turn-off (named Baden Powell Drive, R310) and keep on travelling to Stellenbosch.
- You will eventually pass the Spier Wine Estate (on your right) and a few kilometres after that, the road will end at a T-junction
- Turn right at the T-junction and travel into Stellenbosch (4 km further).
- You will pass over 3 traffic lights - keep to your left.
- The road ends at a T-junction, at which you turn left.
- Pass 3 traffic lights and shortly after the third set, turn right at a set of robots at the sign 'Franschhoek/Idas Valley'.
- This road will take you over the mountain on the Helshoogte pass, through Johannesdal and Pniel.
- This road eventually ends at a T-junction (16 km from Stellenbosch, shortly after the Boschendal Wine Estate, which would have been on your right.
- Turn right at the T-junction onto the R45 to Franschhoek.
- This road will take you straight into Franschhoek, approximately 13 km further.
- Franschhoek Country House has a yellow coloured wall and is situated 1.5 km before the main town of Franschhoek on the right hand side, next to Grande.
