BY AIR:
The closest airports are Bloemfontein International Airport and O.R. Tambo International airport in Johannesburg. Private charters can fly to Bethlehem.

BY ROAD:
From Johannesburg

- Take the N3 from Johannesburg to Durban.
- Take the R26 Frankfort road off the N3
- Turn off on the Villiers / Frankfort off ramp, just after the Engen One-Stop
- Turn right after the off ramp towards Frankfort (R26)
- Nearing Frankfort, at T–Junction turn right (R26)
- Turn left at Reitz / Bethlehem still on the R26 (after the bridge)
- Pass the town Reitz, en-route to Bethlehem
- 53 km from Reitz you will reach Bethlehem, continue straight through Bethlehem
- After Bethlehem follow signs for the R711/2 to the Golden Gate & Clarens (turn right), follow this road for approximately 30 km.
- Nearing the town, you will also see a sign board: “Protea Hotel Clarens”
- turn right into the town of Clarens, follow the road - We are situated in the main road.

FROM DURBAN:

- Take the N3 towards Johannesburg
- Turn off the N3 at the Winterton/Central Berg turn off just after the
Estcourt Ultra City
- Continue through Winterton and Bergville up the Oliviershoek Pass.
- Still on the R74 go past the Sterkfontein Dam on your left. You will
eventually get to a T-Junction. Turn left towards Qwa-Qwa (R712)
- Continue on this road. Do not turn off anywhere; go through the Qwa-Qwa and Golden Gate Park towards Clarens.
- Turn left into the town of Clarens. Follow the road; we are situated in the main road.

FROM DURBAN (alternative route):

- Take the N3 towards Johannesburg.
- As you approach Harrismith, take the Bethlehem off ramp to the left.
- Drive straight through Harrismith, en-route to Bethlehem
- As you approach Bethlehem, turn left at the R711/2 Golden Gate &
Clarens sign, then follow this road for approximately 30 km.
- Nearing the town, you will also see a sign board: “Protea Hotel Clarens”
- turn right into the town of Clarens, follow the road - We are situated in the main road.
