The beach is the most romantic spot to enjoy the African sunset or admire the classic view of Table Mountain. Blaauwberg Beach and Big Bay are famous for their superb waves and frequent winds, making them a windsurfing, kite surfing and power boating haven. The nearby Rietvlei Dam and nature reserve offer gentle sailing conditions and an extensive bird watching opportunities.
Travel information
By car:
- Arriving at Cape Town International Airport, follow in the N2 in the
direction of the city centre.
- Change onto the M5 North, direction of Milnerton.
- Continue straight ahead, until you reach Boundary Road.
- Turn left onto Boundary Road at the traffic lights.
- Turn right onto the R27 at the next set of traffic lights (Otto du Plessis
Road).
- Continue on this road until you reach the Table View/Bloubergstrand
turn-off.
- Protea Hotel – Dolphin Beach will be on your left-hand side.
- Turn left onto Marine Drive.
- Continue ahead, the ocean should be on your left.
- Turn right onto Foam Road, the first road after the roundabout.
- The inn is the second house on your left-hand side after the 4-way
stop.
