The Saint Catherine Monastery located by the footsteps of Mount Sinai in the south of the peninsula is one of the oldest functioning Christian monasteries of the world, and is on the site where Moses is supposed to have seen the burning bush. It hosts one of the largest libraries of early codices and manuscripts, second only to the Vatican.
The Ras Mohammed is conveniently located close to Dahab and was established as a reserve for marine and terrestrial life of the Red Sea. Its shoreline configurations and coral reef ecosystems are recognized as among the best of the world.
You should also take the opportunity to visit Pharaoh’s island by the Gulf of Agaba, which hosts a citadel built by crusaders in the 12th century.
